My primary skills are Linux, C, and C++, although I have written software using several other languages and environments. Click here if you wish to see my resume. Please note that I am not looking for another position. After late 2019, I might be interested in returning to contracting, or perhaps teaching.
I have accepted a full-time position in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with FlightSafety International. Which means that I am not looking for either a contract or direct-hire position at least late 2019. If all works to plan, I will retire from FSI.
After late 2019 or mid-2020, I might return to contracting, or perhaps teaching young folks how to play the fiddle. Probably somewhere in North Central Texas.
I am also a violinist, and I teach violin and viola lessons in my home studio.
I am a Navy veteran. In the Navy, I was an Electronics Technician, and a Reactor Operator.
Other: I have waited tables, managed a restaurant, washed dishes, sacked groceries, dug ditches, picked cotton, moved furniture, operated construction machinery, been a high-school substitute teacher, worked as a chemist making analytical standards for X-ray florescence analysis, and taught in a community college.
You might wonder if there is anything I haven’t done. Well, I’ve never stood on a street corner with a cardboard sign that says “Will work for food.” I have also never been on food stamps.
